We see things as we are.
But we ought to learn to see things as they are.

I think that more often than not, we tend to misinterpret what people say. Or we force these words to fit what we believe to be true. Unfortunately, it can lead to a lot of unhappiness and resentment in the long run.
Also, most of us love to be in control. Of everything, in fact. To the point that we become control freaks. We get forceful, angry, upset and/or throw tantrums when we don't get what we want, resulting in strained relationships or negative feelings. When can we learn to live and let live? That maybe when we accept things as they are or let things go we might just be happier.
It could probably have stemmed from the thought that we know what's best for others. I guess it does happens sometimes. But do we really? Do you really know what's best for someone other than yourself? Heck, sometimes you don't even know what's best for yourself! Before I go on further, however, I do accept that people can know better in certain situations due to prior experiences or advices given but it is when we forcefully impose it on someone else (maybe to the extent of going against their will) that it becomes not right.
For example, why do you need to tell someone who to love? Are you going to be the one who will be with them? Are you going to be the one to feel the emotions that they are going to feel? If you aren't, then what right do you have? People have the choice to love who they love, please don't take it away from them. (Not talking about certain bad situations where it is important to get out of it immediately)
Some things just got me thinking hence I came here to write down my thoughts to make better sense of what I believe or feel. Feel free to drop comments, I think I would like to know and understand different view/opinions and in this way, I can learn to be more open minded as well!
